Abstract
The shipbuilding industry is experiencing a paradigm shift in all areas from design to production with the introduction of innovative concepts such as digital twins and artificial intelligence.
As a result, there are increasing challenges in meeting diverse owner requirements in the safety and performance evaluation of hull structures.
With the number of engineers decreasing, shipyards urgently need innovative approaches to evaluate the safety and performance of hull structures to address the increased workload in analysis tasks.
Structural analysis areas such as hull strength analysis and fatigue analysis require substantial manpower and time. To address this, the development of a universal and efficient analysis system is essential.
This paper discusses the development of a system for performing hull strength analysis and fatigue analysis through collaboration among shipyards, classification societies, and software developers.
Efficient feedback between shipyards and classification societies during the development process enabled rapid identification and improvement of issues. Additionally, the extensive know-how of the shipyards was incorporated into the system, and the safety regulations and standards of the classification societies enhanced the system's reliability.
Consequently, this system integrates the standards of classification societies with the expertise of shipyards, providing a user-friendly environment. Furthermore, it enables reliable structural analysis while reducing working hours.
Collaboration among classification societies, shipyards, and software developers enhances the efficiency and reliability of software development. This partnership is expected to provide new impetus for innovation across various areas of the shipbuilding and marine industries by integrating the expertise of shipyards with the standards of classification societies.
